Equine therapy group for transgender+ children ages 6-12

This group is designed to support children ages 6-12 who are transgender, gender non-conforming, gender expansive/creative or those who are questioning.  Kids will participate in activities designed to enhance self-esteem, communication, identity development, empowerment, leadership, and more!  Group limited to 10 participants.

When: Tuesdays from 5:30-7pm June 28-August 16

Where: Medicine Horse Program (8778 Arapahoe Rd. Boulder, CO 80303)

Cost: $485 per child. Partial scholarships may be available depending on enrollment. 

Facilitators:

Nyle Biondi, MS LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist who has been practicing since 2007.  He has worked extensively with trans and gender non-conforming youth throughout his career.  Nyle grew up with horses and started volunteering at an equine assisted horsemanship center while he was in high school.  Since moving to Colorado last August, Nyle has been volunteering and working at Medicine Horse Program and is thrilled to be offering this program.  

Sorin Thomas (www.queerasterisk.com) is a licensed professional counselor candidate offering individual and family therapy to other queer and trans people. A graduate of Naropa University with a master's degree in Somatic Counseling Psychology, Sorin uses body sensation/movement and mindfulness practices to support the healing process.  Xe also has extensive experience working with horses in therapeutic and non-therapeutic settings and is eager to bring xyr knowledge and experience to this group.
